Getting to Know Adam:

1. Q: How do you like to spend your free time away from the wonderful world of direct response?
A: I love spending time outdoors. Anything from hiking or camping on a quick weekend trip or just jogging or going for a walk downtown.

2. Q: Tell us about a favorite campaign that you’ve worked on.
A: As a designer, I enjoy any campaign that gives me a chance to experiment with visuals. Lately that’s included a brand awareness campaign that called for multiple all new full-color print ads, and another for digital that included video and motion graphics.

3. Q: What's a campaign or project that taught you something unexpected?
A: I’m always surprised by just how effective “less is more” can be. The campaigns that cut down on unnecessary elements, gimmicks, or distracting language and cut right to the heart of the issue and how donors can be part of the solution can be very powerful. While light, these campaigns are still very thoughtfully designed, making sure every element is purposeful and impactful.

4. Q: What's your favorite part of the creative process?
A: My favorite part of the creative process is experimentation. When a campaign calls for trying something new. The challenge of translating the need into tangible and engaging opportunities for giving, in a way that hasn’t been done before, is always exciting.

5. Q: What excites you most about where fundraising is headed?
A: I’m excited to see the ways in which different generations approach giving. As new donors who have come of age in an exceedingly digital world, I’m curious what messaging and medium will see the largest change in approach.

6. Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
A: While I’d like to say teleportation, so I’d never have to deal with a layover or cancelled flight ever again, I’d have to go with the ability to stop time, so I could catch up on reading, finish little projects around the house, or maybe grab a quick nap without losing any time real during the day.

7. Q: What was your dream job as a child?
A: Pilot

8. Q: If you had to choose a different career path, what would it be?
A: History professor

9. Q: What are you currently reading, watching, or listening to?
A: Currently just reading books for new parents and waiting on the new seasons of The Great British Baking Show and The Pitt.

10. Q: What’s one thing on your bucket list?
A: To visit every national park in the US

11. Q: What's a hobby you've picked up as an adult?
A: I really enjoy film photography. It’s a great creative outlet that encourages me to slow down and be intentional, and it’s satisfying to create something tangible.
